I have a very old Newfoundland Doggo that turned 10 in January (they’re usually lucky to make it to 9) who at first enjoyed all the extra attention, but ove r the last two weeks in now bored of us and mostly wants to lay on her couch.
About 10 minutes into a 20 minute walk at lunch she slows way down and gets fussy. Our poor critters all of a sudden burdened with us. The cats seem to barely care and still spend most of the day napping as they do.

Maybe tired from the extra activity? I think they tend to sleep a lot when left alone - so he may be overtired since of course he’ll fight the urge to sleep with you around.
Good doggo!

My cat is a garage/outdoor cat and has been enjoying having us spend time outside gardening and such. She likes the petting but then just enjoys having us around. Different dosages, I suppose.

She is a very good doggo. It’s mostly old age though, s hes 10 and 120#, and is in surprisingly good health but has mild arthritis and her eyesight is starting to go.

Our cats are indoor, one that rarely ever lets me near him but is utterly infatuated with my wife (he’s 14 now and its always been this way) the other enjoys the extra attention but still sleeps most of the day.

Ours plays favorites too. I leave them alone to plot our demise and give them attention when they ask for it.

Our pets are introverts. Interesting, interesting...
